Get Georgia Reading partner myON is delivering more than 10,400 free books to computer and mobile devices that you can access 24 hours a day—every day—through Aug. 31. Last year, kids read over 100,000 books. This year, as you’ll see in the story under “Ready, Set, Read” — the Get Georgia Reading Campaign is challenging Georgia to double that number.

Second round of Public Meetings for Secondary School Facility Planning and Feasibility Study

DeKalb County School District is holding the second of three rounds of public meetings for the Secondary School Facility Planning and Feasibility Study. The second round of the community input meetings will be held Tuesday May 10that Dunwoody HS at 6:30pm and Thursday May 12th at McNair HS at 6:30pm. (Summer Mentoring Initiative in Legal Education) S.M.I.L.E.

S.M.I.L.E. is a program developed by The Honorable Stacey K. Hydrick, a Judge of the DeKalb County State Court. Judge Hydrick designed this FREE Summer Program especially for high school girls interested in learning more about the criminal justice system.

The S.M.I.L.E weekly program will encompass nine program days beginning with an Orientation on Friday, June 3, 2016 through and including Friday, July 29, 2016, which will include a closing reception and luncheon.  

Launchpad is Here
DeKalb County Schools introduces Launchpad, a student portal that provides access to the students' Office 365 accounts as well as a multitude of digital academic resources which are provided by the district.  With Launchpad, students are able to integrate technology in the classroom while maximizing instructional time.  Launchpad is a dynamic tool that changes resources as the needs of the students change.  It is easily accessible from any mobile device.

Effective Tuesday, January 7th 2014 all THS students will be required to wear Khaki pants, skirt, or shorts and a collared polo shirt or a button down shirt.  Shirts must be black, white, maroon, or gray.

The Elementary & Secondary Education Act (ESEA) requires school districts to notify parents of their right to know the professional qualifications of the classroom teachers who instruct their student.
